But now, the Television Academy and Fox have locked in a new date — and it’s one to remember! Mark your calendars for Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, coinciding with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
🎉 Where’s the Glamour Happening? The glittering ceremony will take place at the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Originally scheduled for Sept. 18, the Emmys hit pause when Hollywood’s writers and actors went on strike in July. Negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) are still ongoing.
🏆 Who’s Dominating the Nominations? HBO’s heavy hitters Succession, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus are leading the charge, each snagging over 20 nominations! Other fan-favorites like Ted Lasso, The Mandalorian, Wednesday, Jury Duty, Beef, Andor, and The Bear are also vying for gold.
🌟 First-Time Nominee Fever! This year's lineup features an exciting wave of first-time Emmy nominees, including Jessica Chastain, Elizabeth Debicki, Taron Egerton, Jenna Ortega, Pedro Pascal, Steven Yeun, Jeremy Allen White, Aubrey Plaza, and Bella Ramsey. Special shoutout to 10-year-old Keivonn Montreal Woodard, who made history as the second youngest Emmy nominee ever for his moving role as Sam in The Last of Us.
🎹 And Could We See an EGOT in the Making? Sir Elton John is knocking on the door of entertainment’s grand slam with a nomination for Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium in the Best Variety Special (Live) category. Could this be the final jewel in his crown?
🎨 Creative Arts Emmys Update! Originally set for Sept. 9, those awards will now unfold over two nights: Saturday, Jan. 6, and Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024. An edited presentation will air Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FXX.
